 The following statistics compare Lake area real estate sales from 1/1/2009 to 8/31/2009 compared to the same period in 2008.

*From January 1, 2009 to August 31, 2009, there have been 335 closed sales on waterfront homes, down just a little from 361 sales in the same period for 2008.

*Off-water home sales for this time frame number 384 vs. 462 for the same period in 2008.

*Sales of condos in 2009 is where we have seen the largest decline. There were 282 sales of condos from 1/1/09 to 8/31/09 compared to 433 sales for the same period last year.

*2009 lots and land sales number 102 compared to 177 in 2008.

*Commercial property sales are at 20 in 2009 vs. 39 closings last year.

*Sales of farms has increased from 9 last year at this point to 15 this year.

NOTE: Property values have changed in many areas, and the amount of change will be specific to each area. Averaging all of the Lake area sales is not indicative of values in specific communities.
