LAURIE, Mo. — A local business owner is moving forward with a new project, with plans to bring a restaurant, auction house and shooting range to Laurie.
Nelson Hediger is applying for a liquor license for his new restaurant, the Main Street Smokehouse and Grill, which should be ready to open sometime in late-November. Hediger purchased the former 10,000 square foot antique store located in between Dollar General and Bryant’s Osage Outdoors on Highway 5 in Laurie, and plans to locate the restaurant there.Along with the restaurant on the property, Hediger plans to open a banquet hall, a pawn, gun and jewelry store, and he has future plans for an indoor shooting range.
The restaurant will feature American cuisine, a family-friendly atmosphere, meats smoked in-house and homemade pies and desserts. The banquet hall will offer seating for up to 150, a place for a band, or a band area in a secondary bar, and plate service or buffet-style dining. It is currently accepting reservations for Christmas banquets: call 573-434-1650.
The auction house will offer auctions every Monday, with occasional Saturday estate, gun and coin auctions.
Hediger currently runs the Westlake Pawn and Jewelry on Highway 5 in Laurie. He also was the proprietor of the Kenilworth House Restaurant at KK and Highway 54 in Osage Beach for 12 years. “Everyone loved the Kenilworth house so much, they have been asking me to open a new restaurant for years,” Hediger commentedLakeexpo.com
