Now that 2008 has passed us by, is 2009 the right time to buy?... You decide. The home and condo listing inventory at the Lake is higher than normal. Marketing times are longer than normal. The rates are at their lowest levels in decades. Property selection is very good. Rates will no doubt increase in the future, as they always do. Inventory will decrease eventually, as it always does. So would you prefer to wait until the rates go up and selection goes down, or would you like to take advantage of one of the best times to buy at the Lake? Remember that the Dow Jones Index (DJI) dropped nearly 35% in 2008 and the S & P 500 and Nasdaq fell nearly 40%. Real estate at the Lake did not. I am not saying that you are going to "steal" any property you see, but timing in real estate is everything, and if you are in it for the long term, you may want to consider looking closely now.
