New Restaurant on Horseshoe Bend???
"Condominium owners at the Palisades are expected to voice opposition to a zoning request made by Ron Anderson of RJA Development LLC to make room for a restaurant adjacent to the condos south of Horseshoe Bend Parkway. The request includes the rezoning of 1.22-acres out of a 2.37-acre property from R-3 High Density Residential to B-2 General Commercial. OSAGE BEACH, Mo. (LakeExpo.com) -- The Board of Aldermen will meet Thursday to extend tax increment financing to Dierbergs Markets and finalize the financial picture for 2011. There is every indication the TIF to redevelop High Pointe Shopping Center is going to fly through passage after token resistance through public comment 6:30 p.m., Dec. 16.The Tax Increment Finance Commission unanimously approved Dec. 1 a recommendation to the Board of Aldermen for passage of a resolution to enter into a TIF agreement with Dierbergs Markets. Dierbergs has the High Pointe property under contract contingent upon the city passing the TIF. If aldermen approve this Thursday, Dierbergs would receive $5.1 million in TIF reimbursements to embark upon a $34 million project anchored by a Dierbergs supermarket and Best Buy. Best Buy was not yet under contract as of Dec. 1, however, Dierbergs has expressed an apparent willingness to move forward with the project with or without a formal commitment from Best Buy, according to a financial consultant advising the city. According to the consultant, Dierbergs has projected a modest rate of return for the grocery store alone sufficient to retire debt from the proposed project.Road Boater's Restaurant Closes..Glen's Landing opens.

The Lake of the Ozarks Convention & Visitors Bureau, Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Osage National Golf Resort will present the 2011 Lake of the Ozarks Eagle Days on Jan. 8-9, 2011. The event hours are Saturday, Jan. 8, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 9, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Highlights of the program include live eagles from the World Bird Sanctuary with naturalists on hand to answer questions at Osage National Golf Resort. Interactive exhibits and crafts will take place at Willmore Lodge. Eagle watch cruises (weather permitting) will be offered by the Paddlewheeler Tom Sawyer on Saturday at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. for $5 per person...Lake Sun Leader
